Colorado Nurse Health Program Information
How does a nurse get into the program?
Self referral or referral by a nurse colleague or supervisor, or

The option to participate in CNHP is offered by the State Board of Nursing as an alternative to the disciplinary process when a complaint has been filed against a nurse's license and it appears that the nurse may have a chemical dependency or mental health condition, or

May be stipulated into the program through the disciplinary process.

Is the program confidential?
Voluntary participation in the program is confidential, and no reports are made to the Board of Nursing as long as the nurse follows the contract requirements and does not become unsafe to practice.

Who is eligible?
Any licensed registered nurse or licensed practical nurse living in the State of Colorado who admits an addiction or a mental health condition. The participant must agree to the recommendations of the Committee.
