CNHP

 Notice Minimize

NOTICE

CNHP may be forced to discontinue operations.  All current participants will be receiving letters with detailed information relating to their situation and options.  All Nurse Support Group leaders will also be receiving letters regarding the future of the groups.

As a brief background, the enabling legislation for CNHP was repealed and re-enacted, putting this service out to competitive bid.  When the RFP was first issued for our program in September, 2007, CNHP bid – and won.  We received our award letter on October 22, 2007, and continued to receive funding and accommodate requests to expand our program coverage from the State Board of Nursing.  Then, on January 8, 2007, we were informed that the RFP that we’d won had been cancelled, and was being reissued.  We were recently informed that we were not the winner on the reissued RFP.  We have followed all legal procedures to protest this decision; however, while we are awaiting a hearing on injunctive relief in Denver District Court, CNHP has not been given its funding to continue to serve its participants after June 30, 2008.

We will continue to update the website as more information becomes available.

If you or a nurse you know is dealing with a substance abuse or mental health issue, the Colorado Nurse Health Program can help you find help. Through our monitoring program, you can keep your nursing license and continue working.

Remain safe to practice and stay in compliance with your contract, and no report will be made to the Board of Nursing. Don't wait for the problem to interfere with your ability to practice, and you risk your job, you risk your license, and you risk your life.
